Royal Rally

National Day, June 6, we spent the late afternoon at Skansan-their large outdoor museum. We went with family and enjoyed a walk through the wooded pathways where we came upon folk dancers, and lots of costumed attendees. We then decided to stroll over to the stage area where there was to be a performance (not unlike our Memorial Day concerts on the mall). Peter's young cousin, Henrik, found seats that were obstructed but surprisingly close. They required us to climb over some benches (apparently Swedes are not inclined to get up and let folks pass) so as I was pondering how to do this Henrik (always the charmer)started to chat up a security guard. Next thing I know he motioned to all of us and put us in the reserved seating area with a straight on view of the stage. My camera battery had died (after all those shots of Victoria and Daniel) but Peter's was working and he got many of the royal family. The young son is as handsome as the girls are beautiful. All three Royal Women were in the national costume, although the girls, wisely, chose not to wear the head piece that looks like a folding napkin. The show was quite enjoyable and featured Swedish stars. Lots of music and cheers...RAH, RAH, RAH, RAH!!!
