The spirit of Christmas Past

When I was a child we didn't put the tree up until Christmas Eve. It made for a very magical time for the children but I can only imagine, now as an adult, the incredible stress it must have posed for my parents. I still remember the Christmas my sister received an English Racer, now called a 3 speed bike. "Santa" left it partially assembled in the garage. I believed, as told, that Santa had to leave the job half done so he could deliver all the gifts on time. I believe, now, that it must have been one of the uglier Christmas eves in my parents' memory! I'm a retailer now and try to exercise a little retail discipline by not bringing Christmas out until after Halloween...but even then we have people begging for early items. I must say, now that the trees are up in every room, there is nothing as calming and lovely as a lit Christmas tree with carols playing in the background. We try, at Klaradal, to create a calming environment for shopping. This world is already so stressed out....we're trying to be the anti-stressor! I hope you will stop in, check out our Christmas house (all 7 rooms),share a bit of your Christmas Past and let us be a part of your Christmas future!

Falling in Love Again

Marlene Detriech was singing about a man but I'm referring to Fall...the colors this year are absolutely brilliant. Here at Klaradal we are getting ready to deck our halls for the holidays. I know, as a retailer, it has to be done but I do hate to hide away some of our lovely fall items. I especially love a table square by Ekelund Weavers called Ivy which is shown to the right. This would make a lovely hostess gift if you are staying with someone for the Thanksgiving holidays. It's one of the many great hostess ideas we have. This textile is $45 but we have gifts starting as low as $10. Stop by today or give us a call for some gifting ideas. Meanwhile I'll keep humming fall tunes....Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of site.....
