Sue's purchases and travels

I Spent the last few days in New York at the Intgernational gift show where I visited some of my usual vendors and found a few new ones including some that are fair trade. One fun item that will be perfect for summer gardens (lets think about those in the midst of this cold spell) is metal artwork hammered from discarded a5o gallon drums. These are made in Haiti and offer a beautiful new life to these rusted containers and a living wage to the men who hammer and cut the designs. They're good for the environment and good for the soul. Look for sun stakes, Bird wall art, and round items like the tree of life shown above which are made from the lids of the drums.
