Prince Charles official visit to Sweden
Although Prince Charles had previously visited Scandinavia this past week he had his first official visit to Sweden. It looks as if he and Camilla had a good time visiting the Vasa Museum, playing basketball at a youth center and visiting a housing site. He later dined with the royal family. Photo to the left shows Prince Charles and Camilla with Queen Silvia and young Prince Carl Philip.

Waffle Day!
Sunday, March 25 is Waffle day! I love this holiday. It is so Swedish...and funny how the celebration came to be. The holiday is Annunciation Day in Sweden, also called Lady Day: Vårfrudagen. Because the word Vårfru is so close to the word- våffla (waffle) the date slowly became known as Waffle day. Swedes usually make their waffles really thin and served with jam or strawberries and cream. I plan on bringing out the waffle iron tomorrow morning and treating my guys to a warm fruit covered breakfast...or dessert...or both!

New Princess for Sweden!
The shop had a "party" this weekend to celebrate the birth of Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary who was born to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel on February 24. We celebrated all things pink, Swedish, and royal and had lots of fun oohing over baby pictures (we've lots of proud grandmothers who shop at Klaradal) and enjoying festive cupcakes and cookies. I love the quote from the Prince: "Both the little daughter and the Crown Princess are doing great," The Crown Princess feels radiant, she is so happy . . . As you might guess, we need to just be our little family now."Read more: http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-moms/news/swedens-just-born-princess-named-estelle-siliva-ewa-mary-2012242#ixzz1oFgSFMt1 The picture above is the first official one of the baby...
